7 HUGS, 2 children, 5 adults
I was not feeling very confident today and I thought that might have been the reason for the cooler receptions I received from the 3 new friends I hugged today. The first was a lady at the strawberry farm where we picked strawberries and the other 2 were from Lowe’s grocery store. All 3 gave me a very lukewarm, eh…ok response before giving me a hug. I left thinking perhaps my intentions weren’t as honorable today and they were responding to that. (I have to work hard at reminding myself that this project isn’t about me and the blog I will write later. It is about the joy and love I am aiming to spread to everyone around me.)
As soon as I arrived home I walked to the passenger’s side door to unfasten my 1 year old from his car seat. I caught a quick glimpse of myself in the window and had to laugh. Perhaps it was my out of control hair that caused everyone to be a little reluctant to give the crazy lady a hug. Oops. Guess I really do have to be much more diligent about making sure I look appropriate if I am expecting people to allow me to invade their personal space. On the bright side, I had a great conversation with my husband today about my challenges and he has made a great suggestion. More to come on that….
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
