13 HUGS, 5 children, 6 adults, 1 turtle (I can count saving him from a busy road as a hug, right?)
I love the remarks that I get from my neighbors now that I have started my blog. Every time someone makes a comment it is usually some sort of joke, regardless, there is always a huge smile on their face. Today I saw one of these neighbors and gave her a big hug. She seemed a little surprised as she told me, “Wow, you are the best hugger!” Actually, it was probably more like, “Wow, you are a great hugger”, but I like my version better. It always warms my heart to see these kinds of reactions because it shows me that people can feel that my hugs are coming directly from my heart. They are not merely an action or duty that I am fulfilling. I feel them with my whole being and want to share all of that with others. That is what creates the joy that is felt and passed along. Hopefully it doesn’t end with that one person. Hopefully it continues to be passed along from those I’ve touched to others that they have opportunities to touch throughout the day. If you ever find yourself in the position of being one of those that I have hugged, please share your experiences with me! Let me know if it changed the way you spent the rest of your day or if you did in fact pay it forward. I am always curious about that.
I did get the opportunity to hug 3 new friends today. All 3 were incredibly joyful and grateful for the hug. Even the carpet cleaner who must have been terribly uncomfortable on this hot, humid day humored me with a sweaty hug. It was a day full of love.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
