5 HUGS, 2 children, 3 adults (1 husband, 2 waste disposal employees)
Despite the sick one, I was still able to dish out hugs today. On my way to an appointment, I had to make a stop at the waste disposal site right up the road. These guys are never suspecting. I love their hugs. Well, if you remember, there was a gentleman who I almost didn’t hug due to a cigar hanging out of his mouth. (Read about it here) Much to my delight, he was working today. I am pretty sure he always wears this Don’t Mess With Me face. I approached him and asked if I could hug him again. He smiles and exclaims, “I remember you! Of course!” So we hugged and laughed as I made my way over to another employee whom I haven’t seen before. He was much more hesitant, but I was still reeling from the joy of the first hug that I barely noticed. Today was the first day I was recognized for my hugs. I am counting on it not being the last.
I still have my moments though. I saw my OB/GYN today. Perfect opportunity for a hug. Just can’t get past that whole I am naked you’re not thing. Maybe this is all still too new. Maybe next year I will be a little more comfortable hugging everyone. Then again, there is that naked thing, so maybe not.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
