14 HUGS, 4 children, 1 infant (one month old!), 6 adults (1 husband, 2 neighborhood friends, 1 UPS driver, 1 new mommy)
As you may have noticed, the number of people I hug sometimes doesn’t add up to the number of I hugs I receive. Each of my family members always count as 1 hug regardless of the number of hugs I receive from them. (only fair because I demand a LOT from them) For everyone else, if I hug them more than once, each hug counts separately. Pretty soon I am going to need to find some way of tracking them throughout the day. I beginning to lose track of how many hugs I have received throughout the day. I love that I am having this problem.
My first non family hug of the day was almost a disaster. She is my neighborhood friend that I am blessed to receive a hug from almost every day. Thank goodness it was her. I don’t think anyone else would have taken so kindly to being slapped. Yup, that’s right in my excitement of giving her a hug I backhanded her. Oops. Sorry. *sheepish grin*
My second story isn’t even about a hug I was involved in directly. I received a call from the friend that recently received tough news (from Day 50). Immediately I hear, “I was thinking of you when I hugged my Doctor!” After I confirmed that it was because of GOOD news, I told her how happy I was for her. Her response? “I couldn’t wait to tell you I hugged my handsome (not that that matters) Doctor!” Not, I couldn’t wait to tell you the good news, but I couldn’t wait to tell you about the hug. It always means a lot when I find out my hugs are such an influence on some people’s lives. But, it means even more to hear good news from a friend.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
