Day 56 – Screaming Baby

9 HUGS, 4 children, 4 adults (1 husband, 2 neighborhood friends, 1 Target employee)

So, when this is what my child looks like for the majority of the day, I have a very hard time feeling joyful much less spreading it to others. He is teething, so I do feel bad for him, but man…

When I went to Target, I was able to compose myself long enough to ask the check out person for a hug. I am so glad I did. Even though I was not feeling joyous, the act of hugging her spread the joy to both of us. I left feeling a little happier and calmer, until the screaming started again that is.

Earlier today I posted on my Facebook fan page this as my status, Today I need hugs! Can’t wait to go out and get some! I was already feeling the need for love sent my way. I shared this with one of my neighborhood friends and she looked at me and said, “Do you want a hug now?” With the most pathetic look I could muster I whined and nodded. “yes.” She came right over gave me a hug and said, I will even give you a big ‘Melinda Squeeze’.  Thank you, thank you so much.  I needed that.

Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.

  1. oh my…I do remember those days—only slightly though.
mine are 15 and 16……the fits are a bit different these days…involve slamming of doors, cursing under their breath and rolling of eyes…..
tell anniversary man you need a long hot bath alone tonight…..then tell him he needs to give you one of those..”i’m so glad your my wife and mother of my children HUGS!” dope baby teether up with some teething medicine and give him a bit of baby benedryl…I’d say you should have a nice glass of wine as well…
    hugs..hugs and hugs your way..

    • Thanks for the hugs, Pam. I get so torn. I want these days to be over, but I don’t want him to grow up. 😦 So, for tonight, I think I am going curl up with a good book, that glass of wine and go to bed early. Anniversary man won’t mind. Good thing we celebrated Saturday! {{{HUGS}}} to you.

  2. Teething was such a hard time to get through with my kids, AND grand kids. I know to hear a baby crying a lot has to be stressful for you. You want to help but can’t, and want peace but it isn’t happening till those teffies come in. Sending a big hug your way, I’m not feeling well lately so I won’t get too close and spread my buggy germs.

    • You really hit the nail on the head, Terri. It’s so hard to not be able to fix them. I hope you feel better soon, thanks for not spreading the germs this way. 🙂 Healthy {{{HUGS}}} to you.
