5 HUGS, 2 children, 3 adults (1 husband, 2 church friends)
I helped in the 3-5 year old room at church today. There were 2 adults and 2 children. Both adults were necessary. A very precocious young girl was there that was interested in everything except what we were doing. She even took it upon herself to go explore the hallways by herself. 3 times. When her mom came to pick her up, she explained that she had just recently been coming back to church because her older son has Asberger’s Syndrome. (on the autism spectrum) She explained that it was necessary for herself. I could see that she really struggled with that decision. I gave her a squeeze to give her strength and let her know that she is a great mom. I hope she received that message. If not, I will continue to give her those hugs each week until she does.
Tonight my 16 month old gave me a new type of hug. It was a death grip hug (I actually let go of him at one point and he didn’t move an inch). I guess the fireworks were a bit much for him. I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend!
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
