Awwww…thanks chinese fortune. Even my fortune appreciates my hugs. 🙂
Today it was H O T! Not just here either, I know tons of places are getting his with this heat. It makes me so sleepy and unmotivated. Apparently the kids too. My 17 month old took a 3 hour nap. We didn’t leave the house today until 4:30, but I promised my 4 year old a trip to Monkey Joe’s, so off we went. I was hoping for some new friend hugs anyway. As soon as we got there, my toddler refused to leave my lap and finally when he did, it was to simply run back and forth between the bounce houses. Between chasing him and watching for my oldest, I didn’t see how I would have opportunity to hug. I say this every time, but I should always know better.
The constant running gave me quite the opportunity to bond with other mothers who understood exactly what I was going through. In passing, we would joke with each other or even just smile in understanding. Finally after about an hour and a half, it was time to go. I wanted to let these women know how much I appreciated them and how much more pleasant my experience at Monkey Joe’s was because of them. I approached the first woman for a hug. I told her about my blog and she got so excited letting me know she was getting ready to start her own blog. YEAH! I love reading new blogs and look forward to learning more about hers.
The second woman I approached for a hug quietly let me know she was expecting. She is less than 5 weeks into her pregnancy. Oh my goodness. I love pregnant women! My grateful hug turned into a congratulatory hug. I left there bursting with joy and happiness. Just imagine, if I was not on a hugging mission, I would have missed out on sharing these amazing moments with these women. I left there in complete astonishment that I actually used to be someone who actively avoided conversing with others. Now that I have glimpsed what the future can hold on a daily basis, I will always actively seek out what others have to offer.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
