13 HUGS, 4 children, 9 adults (1 husband, 1 neighborhood friend, 1 waste disposal employee, 1 therapist, 5 Brookwood Vet employees)
I’ve been thinking about bringing my camera/video camera to places where I can show appreciation with my hugs and record the moments for my blog. Instantly, the first place that came to mind was a hospital. There are so many people I would love to show appreciation for there. Just as I was thinking this a car passed by with a bumper sticker that read, Thank a NURSE. I kid you not! I actually took a picture, but well, we were moving and it’s not really even legible. I do believe in signs though and they don’t get much clearer than that.
I got my first opportunity to put this appreciation in to practice when I went to pick up my dog’s medicine at Brookwood Vet. They are aware of my blog as the last time I was there I gave out hugs. Today, after paying for the medicine, I hugged the two girls at the front desk. One of them asked if I would like more hugs. Well, of course! She brought me into the back where I was introduced as the hugging girl. This is not the first time I have been called the hugging girl, probably not the last, and it will never get old. Smiles and laughter erupted in the room. I absolutely love that I break up the monotony of people’s days with my hugs. I can’t even begin to explain the euphoric feelings that I get when I see their smiles and know that I caused them. I take full responsibility and I promise it will happen again.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
