8 HUGS, 2 children, 6 adults (1 husband, 2 neighborhood friends, 3 Carfix employees)
I finally got my long overdue oil change at Carfix today. They are a great locally owned company and before I get all commercial sounding on you, just trust me…I won’t go anywhere else for my cars. As soon as I entered, I warned them that when it came time for me to pay I was going to ask for hugs and a picture. Well, I got my wish. (I tried to get the logo at the right there in the pic, but well, I would say this photo is pretty good seeing as how my 4 year old took it.)
Just as I was getting ready to leave, one of the mechanics entered the lobby. I asked him for a hug which he at first declined because he was so dirty. (his hands were pretty black from working on the cars) I told him that was no reason for me not to give him a hug and I made my way over anyway. He proceeded to hold out his hands while I hugged him.
Why would I let a silly thing like dirt keep me from spreading joy and happiness? My shower is pretty good at getting dirt off and my clothes can always be cleaned or replaced. Hugs create memories that have the potential to leave lasting impressions. I will choose hugs over dirt (or sweat!) anyday.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
