13 HUGS, 6 children, 7 adults (1 Stepdad, 2 old school friends, 1 babysitter, 1 Dad, 1 Stepmom, 1 Mom)
I visited with 2 friends today that I have known since grade school. (one since kindergarten!) It’s kind of amazing, we each have 2 kids and they are all within the same age ranges. We only get to see each other about once a year, but what a special time that is. We even took the opportunity to hire a babysitter for a short time while we were together. (yes, we were only outside, but it was necessary for a little uninterrupted time.)
I love the hugs from the kids. They are those tentative I am not sure that I know you, but mommy seems excited to see you so I guess it’s ok kind of hugs. I love knowing that they will turn into oh yeah, I am so excited to see you kind of hugs in a few years. But, my friends? I have known them for so long and so intimately that those hugs say that I get what you are going through because I am too. They say I know where you came from and will still be here when you get where you are going. These hugs take years to perfect and I feel blessed to have had years to perfect them.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
