4 HUGS, 2 children, 2 adults (1 husband, 1 Kroger employee)
Today was just one of those days. 365 days of blogging and there is going to be more than a handful of ‘those days’. This was a classic definition of one. On my way to the grocery store I was thinking there was no way I would be able to hug anyone. I would be lucky to hug my own family. (Which by the way hasn’t officially happened, I am just determined for it to happen before the day is over, so I counted their hugs.) It is pretty amazing how powerful the mind can be. I was stewing over an argument with my hubby the whole way to the store. But, amazingly, once I was in the store, I had other things to think about. You know, do I need those chocolate chip cookies, is 4 bags of chips too many, that sort of thing. By the time I made it to the check out counter I was almost calm. (almost) What really helped put me in the right frame of mind was the cheerful attitude of the check out girl. It’s true what they say, smiles ARE contagious. Who knew? She was busy with the next customer by the time I had a chance to ask her for a hug, but I did take the opportunity to ask the smiling young man who bagged my groceries. Having a bad day? Perhaps a trip to the grocery store is all you need. Worked for me.
Please accept this blog post as my virtual hug to you.
