4 HUGS, 2 children, 2 adults (1 husband, 1 neighborhood friend)
I ran a few errands today, but none of them afforded me the opportunity for a hug. The CVS employee was behind a counter. A drive through bank teller? A little difficult with them being inside a building and me being inside a car. No matter. This is something I have been wanting to write about for awhile so looks like today is the day.
About a week ago I heard Pink’s new song (and my new anthem) on the radio, F****** Perfect. Of course, on the radio and in this video it is dubbed Less Than Perfect. I watched the video for the first time today and a word of warning, there is a slightly graphic scene in it. Regardless, I was in tears the whole video and was outright crying by the end. This is very similar to the way the song made me feel the first time I heard it on the radio. It really resonated with me one of the reasons I love hugging everyone. We are all unique. We are not right or wrong, good or bad. Perhaps decisions we make or things we say can be perceived that way, but as individuals, we just are. What moved me about this song was her desperate need to let everyone know that we all deserve to be loved, respected and cherished for the people that we are. I love to celebrate the uniqueness in every person that I meet. My hugs are just one way of letting everyone know that. You are all f****** perfect to me.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
