As you all know, Wednesday’s are a favorite of mine because it is when I pick up my veggies from Smith’s Nursery and usually bring my garbage to the waste disposal site. I had the opportunity to hug a new friend at the waste disposal site. (He was a little leery of me, guess his coworkers haven’t warned him about me yet.) At Smith’s, I got an excited, “Yeah! I remembered who you are this week.” Love that reaction!
I am debating placing my 18 month old in day care. I toured Goddard School today. My favorite part of the tour was when I asked if touch and hugs were a part of their daily interaction with their students. I explained that this was very important to me. The owner reassured me that she knows she can not enforce discipline without the children understanding that they are loved first. She creates a loving environment with lots of hugs and I witnessed this first hand after walking into one of the classrooms where she was surrounded by children offering up hugs. That gave me some warm fuzzies. I still don’t know if it is the right move for our family, but if it is, that is definitely the kind of environment I would want for him. I even felt comfortable enough not to bother asking for a hug as I was leaving, I just reached out my arms and it was well received.
Please accept this blog post as my virtual hug to you.
