11 HUGS, 4 children, 5 adults (1 husband, 1 Pediatric Doctor, 1 Pediatric nurse, 2 neighborhood friends)
Today was an 18 month check up at the Doctor’s. This was the first time I was going to see the boys’ pediatrician since starting the blog. I was excited because she is someone that I have always wanted to hug but wasn’t sure if it was appropriate. She has been my lifesaver through both of my children’s first years while trying to maneuver through allergies and nursing issues. Once again today she imparted not just medical advice, but life advice. Mother to mother advice. She is so much more than my Pediatrician. I am so blessed to have her in my life.
When I asked her for a hug today she was a little surprised that I wanted it for me. She then said, “I would love more of these.” We have a good enough relationship that I knew I wouldn’t compromise the validity of the hug by sharing the blog with her. She loved the idea and asked what day I was on. I let her know and shared how I am looking forward to creating a book about it mostly for my boys. A smile spread across her face as she let me know I gave her chills. Amazing. I love all of the different ways people are affected. I love that each time someone is affected, I am affected. Life is truly a blessing and I am beyond blessed.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
