12 HUGS, 4 children, 8 adults (1 husband, 2 neighborhood friends, 5 employees of Brookwood Veterinary Clinic)
I love being far enough into this hug journey that people are anxiously awaiting my hugs. When I arrived at Brookwood Vet for my dog’s annual check up, I was approached for the hugs, not the other way around. Yes! I love it. I then went around the vet’s office making sure I hugged everyone, including the Doctor who I had not yet hugged since starting this blog. What a great hugger! He hugged me tight and didn’t let go. Even after we stopped hugging, he put his arm around me as we walked in to the exam room. Oh yeah, my dog is in good hands.
Later this evening, I was enjoying the pre-hurricane sunset when some neighbors were passing by enjoying the beautiful weather. Their 4 year old came running over to give me a hug and his sister followed suit. I made my way over to their parents where I needed to have a talk with their dad. Me: “So I hear you are upset that you haven’t gotten enough hugs from me?” Him: “Where’d you hear that?” Me: “I’ve heard.” Him: “Hmmm..I bet I know who it was.” I know it shouldn’t make me so happy, but I love when people get upset that I am not giving them as many hugs as they expect or want. It makes me a little giddy inside. Oh, I’m sorry you want MORE hugs from me? Always happy to oblige.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
