Day 138 – The Tides are Turning

14 HUGS, 4 children, 8 adults (1 husband, 4 Sunday School Leaders, 1 Reverend, 2 neighborhood friends)

I am only a little over 1/3 of the way through my year and the tides are turning. (Quite fitting title for the day after a hurricane.) Today is the 2nd day in less than a week that I didn’t have to ask someone (who is not family or a good friend) for a hug, they approached me first. It had been over a month since I had been at church. When I entered the young kids Sunday School room, the leader quickly made her way over for a hug. She is not aware (to my knowledge) of my blog. She was just moved to hug me. When I began this journey, I looked forward to the days in which others would ask me for a hug rather than the other way around. I can’t believe that it is already happening only a third of the way in! I certainly hope this is a trend that will keep happening more and more often. Knowing how good that makes me feel just reinforces what I am doing and inspires me to do more.

Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.

  1. ….I’m noticing the same…
my staff at work have started just coming and giving me a hug–for someone who had issues with people getting too close physically, well it is quite the 360. In the same sense, I’ve noticed a complete change in the environoment of the work place. nice post… really are changing the world one hug at a time.
