6 HUGS, 3 children, 3 adults (1 husband, 2 neighborhood friends)
On July 7 I received an instant message on Facebook from a neighbor asking how my hugs were going. He is the husband of one of my friends and by this point we had been around each other, but I am not sure that we had ever been formally introduced. I thought it was sweet he was interested. He then let me know he felt left out. I told him there was a hug with his name on it the next time I saw him. 60 days and many other messages later I finally saw him. I was out for a walk with one of my super sweet neighbors (We will call her neighbor A.) and as soon as I saw him (neighbor B) I made a beeline for his house yelling the whole way about finally getting my hug. He was exhausted from an all-nighter with his son, but made his way over for a hug. Super sweet neighbor A then laughed and said she needed to hug him now or else she would look bad. Hey, whatever it takes to get people hugging more.
I came back home to the following message posted on neighbor B’s facebook wall, “Finally got my hug today, the question is what number was I?” Yeah! I can’t tell you how much it has warmed my heart to know that some one I don’t know all that well has been so intrigued by my hugs. I especially love that it was a guy. The answer to this question was #4 of the day. He was my first non family hug today.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
