Day 154 – Operation Appreciation Hugs

13 HUGS, 3 children, 10 adults (1 husband, 2 employees at The Little Gym, 1 grandmother, 6 employees at Women’s Birth and Wellness Center)

The moon monster (PMS – see yesterday’s post) was rearing its ugly head again this morning. I even called hubby to warn him I may bite his head off if he looks at me funny be irrational. The thing is I had already planned on making cookies to bring to the Women’s Birth and Wellness Center to thank them for an amazing birth experience with my 18 month old. (yes, I am a little late on this) As lethargic and moody as I was feeling, I knew that it was important and would probably go a long way in lifting my spirits.

Place where 18 month old was born.

I was right. Although I am not a baker, just creating something with love to give away was a boost. Seeing the look on the midwives faces as they were delivered? Well that was priceless. I presented them saying, “I come bearing cookies and hugs!” As I was arranging the cookies in their conference room, nurses, midwives and administrators made their way out of the woodwork. They commented on how great my cookies were (even asking for the recipe!) and how much they appreciated the kind gesture. I hugged each and every one of them. They remind me of such a special, proud time. Their attentiveness, patience and care helped me to have the natural birth I always wanted and through the difficulties, still look upon it as one of the greatest experiences of my life. I will be forever grateful.

Kindness Girl in O Magazine!!!

When I got home, I was thrilled to find out I received this month’s   O Magazine. See, I just found out that one of my favorite bloggers was featured in it. She has been on my blogroll since I first began my blog. She is actually a friend of my neighbor’s and I am so thrilled for her. What an experience it must have been. Her blog is kindness girl. If you don’t already follow her, I highly suggest it. Her posts are inspirational and amazing. Even when she is not blogging, she is posting beautiful pictures. I hope her guerilla goodness really catches on.

By the end of today I was armed with kindness, joy, appreciation and inspiration. Moon monster be gone! (spoken in a commanding voice)

Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
