3 HUGS, 2 children, 1 husband
I thought about calling this post My Day Off. After all, I woke up this morning and was so tired that by 9:30 when my 18 month old went to sleep, so did my 4 year old and I. When we all woke up 2 hours later I was still exhausted. Down to the bone tired. I was not motivated to do anything. I was feeling a little sorry for myself when I read this tweet from a twitter friend, ‘Thinking of you. (((HUG)))’. Awwww. (thanks, Shabana!) She always seems to know when I need that cyber hug. It means just as much to me as getting a ‘live’ hug. It was almost like a permission slip that let me know it was ok to take a day off and just enjoy my children. That is exactly what I did.
I got to witness new words being formed on my toddler’s mouth. I shared in the joy of watching Tangled for the umpteenth time with my older son. We *gasp* cleaned the house. We laughed, we read, we cuddled and I am sitting here in complete contentment with the direction my day took. This was not a day off. This was a day of living.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
good to learn this now…before they get too old
It will still happen too fast for me I am sure. In the meantime, I squeeze every last breath out of them! lol
Hi. I saw the movie. It was sad and funny.
I think we have watched it every day for over a week now. It gets funnier each time. 🙂
