11 HUGS, 4 children, 6 adults, 1 teleported hug(1 husband, 2 neighborhood friends, 2 waste disposal employees, 1 dental assistant)
Teleported. Yup. Pretty sure I just made up a new meaning for that word. It describes so nicely a hug I received this morning though. While at my house one of my neighborhood friends spent some time on the phone with a good friend of hers who lives in another state. When they ended their call, neighborhood friend made her way over to give me a hug on behalf of her friend. My first teleported hug. It has a nice ring to it, no? Hee Hee
This afternoon my 4 year old and I had dentist appointments. When our cleanings were over I took a moment to hug the dental assistant. She looked at me with with a quizzical look and asked, “What was that for?” I told her I appreciated her. She gave me a sideways look and with a big smile on her face said, “Thank you. That was so nice.” I walked back to the front desk feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.
I have rewritten this next paragraph at least 4 times. I am struggling with what I wanted to say. I was so excited to share with you all my good fortune of learning that I had a significantly large overpayment at the dentist. As I wrote the experience, and rewrote it, and rewrote it, I realized that it was not important. Not in the way that my hugs are important. That is why I was struggling with how to share it with you. In the scheme of 365 days of hugs, money doesn’t fit. It has no significance. And, I think I kind of like it that way.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
