8 HUGS, 3 children, 2 adults (2 neighborhood friends so far. # of birthday party hugs tbd)
What a rollercoaster of a day this has been. This morning I woke up sad knowing that my husband would soon be on his way to a funeral. One of his best friend’s mom passed away last weekend. He has known their family since high school and she was a big part of his life. I wished I could have been there too.
About mid-morning, a neighborhood friend dropped off her 2 year old so she could run some last minute errands for her big birthday bash this evening. Seeing her I began getting excited knowing all the fun we will have tonight. And her boy is just such a love. It was a joy to have him around.
This afternoon I got a surprise visit from another neighbor who dropped off fresh peppers and basil from his garden. There is nothing like fresh veggies!
Then, just as birthday girl was picking up her son I received a call from hubby. His grandmother passed away this morning. Although we weren’t very close with her, she was family and we will grieve her passing just the same.
Days like this are just a reminder that I am alive and I will rejoice for that. I will celebrate the ability to feel these different emotions. I will accept them as they come. I will celebrate life, hugging everyone I can along the way and if it must be done at a grand birthday bash….so be it.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
