9 HUGS, 4 children, 5 adults (1 husband, 1 neighborhood friend, 2 waste disposal employees, 1 Brookwood Vet employee)
Often life sends me towards someone who helps to remind me of why I am on a hugging mission. Today was one of those times. Granted I go to the waste disposal site often, but today was an unexpected visit. On my way out the door to run some errands I decided I HAD to bring my garbage and recycling to the waste disposal site. I didn’t have much to bring, I just felt I had to go.
There was a woman working that I have never met before. We talked a little, then as I was leaving, I asked her for a hug. She gave me a huge smile and walked over for her hug. As I turned to leave I heard with a lump in her throat, “I really needed that today.” Tears clouded my eyes as I let her know I was happy to be there for her. Driving away my 4 year old let me know he heard me ask for a hug. Yes, you sure did buddy. Get used to it, this eternally optimistic mommy will be asking that of others for as long as you can imagine.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
