Day 183 – Rose Colored Glasses

10 HUGS, 4 children, 6 adults (1 husband, 3 neighborhood friends, 2 employees at Smith’s Nursery)

All day long I found myself singing a chant that we sometimes sing at church:

Love, love, love, love
The answer in one word is love
Love your neighbor as yourself
Love, love, love

Then, I come home to this headline in the news: 6 killed, 3 wounded in California salon shooting. Where was this shooter’s love? Did he love anyone? Did anyone love him? Why were fear and hate in his life so much stronger than love? Many of us will read this story and think, “wow, what an evil person”. Was he really evil or just lacking in some of the basic necessities that everyone not only needs, but deserves? If we can see him in a different light than perhaps we can all choose love over fear and hate. Imagine what would happen then. I am a firm believer that love can conquer the world.

Some may see me as naive, but I see myself as hopeful. I choose to see life through rose colored glasses because love is my reason for living.

Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
