13 HUGS, 8 children, 5 adults (1 husband, 2 neighborhood friends, 2 new friends at Smith’s Nursery)
Wine is detrimental to blogging. I am learning that this evening. I have so much to say but nothing to write. I know, I know that makes no sense. Let me try to explain, today was a normal day full of special moments. The problem is that I have no words for these moments (especially with a wine addled brain). I just felt as though I was in exactly the right place at the right time at every second of today. What an incredible feeling. What I can convey to you are 2 hugging moments that were extra special to me:
The first was at Smith’s Nursery. I met 2 new friends there because I went to pick up my veggies much earlier than usual. One of the women I hugged let me know that she raised the chickens that laid the eggs I buy. I thanked her profusely as me and my children devour these eggs like nobody’s business. What a privilege it is to meet the people that provide your family with their nourishment.
The second was my neighborhood friend that I hug almost every day. Today when I hugged her she commented, “that was a nice hug”. Well, sure it was. She is leaving tomorrow for an extended vacation and after seeing her almost every day for the past year I am going to miss her tremendously. I wanted to make sure she knew that. Sometimes it is just easier to say that in a hug than it is in person. I already look forward to the day she will return.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
