Day 228 – Family Matters

14 HUGS, 5 children, 9 adults (1 husband, 2 sisters, 2 brothers in law, 1 Mom, 1 Stepdad, 1 Mother in law, 1 neighborhood friend)

I love the fact that my hug awareness is reaching so many, including family! For most of us it seems so obvious that hugging should be a family affair, but it’s just not always the case. I mean, my family is a family of huggers, but my brothers in law? Well, I wasn’t quite sure where they stood. They would always give hugs, but was it forced on them? I learned the truth this weekend. My older sister had a ‘surprise’ gift for me:

Oh yeah, I will be wearing this pin EVERYWHERE. Anyway, after I opened it, my brother in law was quick to point out that it was him that found the pin. It was his idea to get it for me. And he was adamant that he got credit for that. Yes! (by the way, that little shape at the bottom right of the pin says, ‘HUG ME’)

Most of the family is leaving very early tomorrow morning. This thought makes me so sad, but what an incredible weekend full of love, family, laughter and insanity. Best of all? I was guaranteed a hug from each and every one of these beautiful people all weekend long:

I love that even my dog felt the need to join in the picture.

Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
