7 HUGS, 2 children, 5 adults (1 husband, 1 Reverend, 3 friends at Unity Church of the Triangle)
When I was young I approached my Dad when I was ready to hear the truth about Santa. I think as children, most of us get to the point where we know the truth but aren’t ready to accept it yet. We ask our parents when we think we are ready to accept Santa isn’t real. When that day came Dad looked at me with a twinkle in his eye and said, “of course Santa is real.” He then went on to explain that Santa is that giving, loving spirit within each of us. He is always with us. My Dad never let me stop believing.
I will admit I stopped believing for awhile. During that time I lost my smile, my innocence, and yes, at times, my Santa. Then, I started hugging. Slowly my smile returned. My innocence came back (did you even know that was possible?). My Santa returned. Call it what you will, the Christ within, God, Santa… once again I believe.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
