3 HUGS, 2 children, 1 husband
It never seems to fail. On days that I am really struggling to connect with others I often find myself receiving a hug from somewhere unexpected. Today it came in the mail. A good friend sent me the elephant Hug Walla. I have wrapped his arms around some roses I keep on the tub from my wedding. Every morning I look in the mirror I will see his reflection staring back at me as a reminder of the hug I received long distance from my friend. Not a bad way to start the day.
Then to top off the day my sister shared this story with me. She works at a local grocery store and occasionally helps out in the floral section. Recently she was helping an older couple and having a pleasant conversation with them. As they were getting ready to leave the woman hugged my sister. Her first thoughts were of me.
Whether receiving incredible gifts in the mail, reading emails/posts on facebook, or listening to hug stories from others, every time feels like a great big giant hug. It is an incredible feeling to know that now, 261 days after I first began this journey there is a momentum that keeps going even when I am not at the top of my game. I am no longer doing this alone. It brings happy tears to my eyes.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
