Lately I have been thinking often of a quote about how one person can make a difference. Especially after yesterday’s post and consequent comments. I wanted to talk about that quote today, but when searching for it, I came across these 3 quotes instead. I copied each one without thinking about what I wanted to do with them. I just knew that they spoke to me. Imagine my surprise when I read them one by one in the order that I pasted them on to this page. It is like a timeline of my journey this past year.
I wondered why somebody didn’t do something. Then I realized, I am somebody. ~Author Unknown So began my journey. I knew I wanted to see more love around me so I did something about it.
Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself. ~Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy My focus turned to what grandiose gesture could I possibly do to affect as many people as possible? How can I hug in such a way that everyone sees what I do then tries to emulate me? After a period of time I realized I can’t change others, but I could change myself. In doing so, I see the change in others around me.
I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God who is sending a love letter to the world. ~Mother Teresa Never mind the fact that Mother Teresa has always been my hero. I even did a report on her in 4th grade. This little gem just about brought tears to my eyes. It is so simple, yet makes me feel so powerful. I am doing God’s handiwork.

I am just one person and I am making a difference. In my life and in the lives of others. I will continue to do so because I am addicted to the euphoria I feel each time I hug and am hugged. I am addicted to the smiles that light the faces of those around me. I am addicted to hearing others tell me how I have touched and/or changed their lives. I may never be as well known as Mother Teresa, but I will leave a legacy of love in my wake.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
