Day 317 – I Made It Right

10 HUGS, 4 children, 6 adults (1 husband, 1 Mother in Law, 2 neighborhood friends, 1 employee at Carfix, 1 employee at Jersey Mike’s Subs)

So today I made it right. I had to get an oil change and tire rotation on my other vehicle so returned to Carfix. I had an hour to wait and think and get nervous about the hug I knew I really wanted to ask for. I almost lost my nerve again. Fortunately I also had time to remember all the lessons I have learned during my year. By the time I finished paying I made sure to let the employee know that I missed hugging him Tuesday and got my hug for today. I turned just as I was walking out the door to see the one I hugged smiling and laughing with the others in the shop. So, one of my fears came true, they were laughing it’s just that I don’t think it was quite at me, but with me. Definitely worth it.

It was gorgeous weather out so Gaga (mother in law) and I decided to pick up lunches from Jersey Mike’s and have a picnic at a local park. I recognized the employee that was taking the orders so I know he has been working there a while, but he acted nervous and messed up my order a few times. By the time I went to pay, the cashier offered me 3 complimentary cookies for the trouble. I told him it was no trouble. A long line had formed in the meantime and the cashier switched places with the young man that took my order. I am guessing he was in training for fixing the sandwiches. As my last sandwich was placed in the bag and handed to me by the young man I smiled brightly at him and asked him for a hug. I wanted to let him know that no harm done. Everyone makes mistakes and it was all ok. He laughed, hugged me and said, “it’s all ok.” Guess I was just reinforcing what he already knew.

Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
