8 HUGS, 2 children, 6 adults (1 husband, 1 Mother in law, 1 Pediatrician, 1 Nurse, 2 employees at Ramsdell Pediatrics)
I love the fact that after declaring my 2 year old did not need antibiotics his pediatrician turned to me and said, “Hug time”. Oh that makes me so giddy.
Know what else makes me giddy? That thing I said that I would let you know about this week. I just can’t wait. I am too excited about it. On Saturday, April 7 Smith’s Nursery is having an Easter Egg Hunt (follow for updates on Facebook here). I know, right? Sooo exciting! Ok, ok, there’s more. They have agreed to let me set up a hug booth. This is awesome for two reasons. One, what better way to celebrate the end of my year than hugging hundreds of people. Two (and more importantly), I will also be fundraising for a great cause, Hugs for Harper. Harper is a beautiful, brave 5 year old and she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in Sept 2011. She lives here in NC and while my heart broke when I first learned of her through a friend, since then I have been blown away by the courage she has shown. And, by the resilience and courage her family has shown on her facebook page. This month her brother was born and all I could wonder was how her mom could possibly managing it all. The answer I came up with? She shouldn’t have to. So, in this next week I will be adding a PayPal donate button to either the blog or my facebook page (or both). And, I will keep everyone updated on how you can get your hug from me at the Hunt and Hugs!
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
