20+ HUGS, 2 children, 18+ adults (1 husband, 1 neighborhood friend, 1 Minister, 15+ church friends)
I am soooo giddy! Ok, so it didn’t start out that way. I actually woke up thinking, “What was I thinking drinking a whole bottle of wine yesterday when I knew I had to be up earlier than usual for church?!” Then I thought, “What was I thinking signing up for the earlier volunteer shift at work?!” Ugh. So, I dragged myself out of bed (or rather the kids dragged me out of bed) and we went to church. That was exactly where I was meant to be at the exact time I was meant to be there. See I believe everything happens for a reason and life proves this to me time and time again.
I was standing at my station at the Welcome Table during coffee hour after the first service talking away with my friends. A few of them came to congratulate me on my article. Some who knew of my blog and some who learned of it because of the article. When suddenly I see someone rushing towards me. He says, “Are you Melinda? The hugger?” When I replied yes he asked, “Can I get a hug?” Ahhhh!!!! My first request for a hug! Oh my goodness! I was so excited I was tingling all over! (oh wait. that could be the MS) No matter, I was thrilled beyond belief! I even had to rein in my hug a little for fear of squeezing him too hard. *oops*
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
