Vacation Vows

1 New Hug (a friend’s husband)

Life has been sending me gentle (sometimes not so subtle) reminders that it’s time for me to slow down. Slow down my hectic schedule, slow down my anxiety, quiet my mind. With 2 kids this is not an easy feat. Heck, without kids this is not an easy feat. This extended family vacation could not have come at a better time.

My vacation vow:

Breathe out any worry of things I may have forgotten to pack.

Give the kids extra space to be kids. Vacation can be so exciting its overwhelming.

Soak up the majestic views of the lake BEFORE unpacking.

Close my eyes and let the wind blow through my hair while speeding across the lake on the boat.

Relish in all of the wonder in the kids eyes as they experience things for the first time.

Find some wonder as I experience things for the first time.

Hug my extended family in such a way as to let them know how much I miss them.

Celebrate having been blessed with 37 years of life. (tomorrow’s my birthday. Woo Hoo!)

Spend more than a few moments cuddling my hubby letting love be our silent conversation.

Breathe in the peace and tranquility that are always available to me, but are sometimes forgotten.

Be grateful for the opportunity to take a vacation and spend time with my loved ones.

Appreciate the chance to miss sharing my life with you. Until then…

Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
