Last night was hubby’s Christmas party for work. I love it because a few of his coworkers know of my hugs and eagerly await them. However, there is another side to that. I don’t know who knows and who doesn’t which can make for some awkward introductions. Sometimes I get a look almost like they might know and perhaps I should hug them, but if they don’t know then I am just the weird wife going around hugging people she doesn’t know. (Shush. I realize that’s what I am, but I don’t know that that is the best thing for hubby’s business environment.) Then, if they do know and I don’t hug them… let’s just say it’s complicated.
What I absolutely adore are the ones who know and immediately ask me for a hug. Thank you so much for taking it out of my hands and placing me right in my comfort zone. The thing is, the one person that did that last night happened to be the COO of the company. Who, I totally blew off at first to hug someone else before I was introduced to him. And, that I didn’t even realize who he was until our conversation (where he was gushing about me!) was just about over. So much for my comfort zone. Anyway, it just goes to show that no matter who we are and what “title” we hold, hugs are almost always welcome. Thank you COO for showing me that last night. Just call me Chief Operating Officer of hugs…
(By the way, when you get a chance, check out the link above for Republic Wireless. A $20/month unlimited cell phone service! And, yes this is a shameless plug for hubby’s company. I am just so proud.)
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
