Don’t You Look Lovely

5 New Hugs (4 new church friends, 1 O2 Fitness childcare employee)

Did you guys hear the story last week about the group of high school kids who opened a Twitter account to post compliments about the other kids in their school? It was their way of fighting cyber bullying. (Read the story here) Can I just tell you how much I love those kids? It got me to thinking just how powerful words can be. One kind word can make someone’s day, week, year, heck even a lifetime.

Complimenting one another is such a quick, easy, free way to let someone know you care. Yet, I don’t know about you, but I often think a compliment and never voice it. You know, “wow, I really like that shirt she has on today.” “I have always admired the way she parents her children.” “He has the patience of a saint.” Thanks to these kids I have been reminded to stop holding those thoughts back. They belong front and center. Addressed to the very beautiful souls that caused me to think them in the first place.

Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
