5 New Hugs (1 Target employee, 1 scared Mom, 3 new church friends)

Yesterday I shopped at Target and the employee in the line I was in was in a wheelchair. I have seen him there before but never had the pleasure of being in his line. He was quite friendly when it was my turn, he said hi and we made small talk. It was so busy when I first went to check out but for some reason it cleared out by the time I got up to the register. I took it as a sign that I needed to hug him. I placed my bags in my cart, turned to him and said, “May I come around to you and give you a hug?” He grinned so wide and said, “Absolutely.” I reached him and he added, “I never turn down a hug.” His friendliness turned into pure joy. I could even still hear it when he said hi to the next customer in line. There was definitely a sparkle and excitement in his voice that wasn’t there before. I love that.

Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
