3 New Hugs (3 new friends at a donation center)
Yesterday was so bittersweet. I dropped off more toys at a donation center because now that my youngest boy is turning 3, the baby toys are no longer needed. I am thrilled to watch the independent, loving boy he is growing in to, but my heart is sad knowing the baby phase in my home is over. Sigh. Totally bittersweet.
Anyway, there were 3 lovely ladies working at the donation center and I couldn’t have received 3 more different hugs. It was quite something. The first one gave me a full on squeeze. As I hugged her, she hugged me tighter. Oh man, I love that. The second one allowed me to hug her, but did not hug back. As a matter of fact her right arm stayed straight out to the side. I have always wondered what a person is thinking when they do this. Hmm. The third one gave me a very straightforward hug. Not too tight, not too loose, just right. Huh, I am kind of reminded of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears.
On this Valentine’s Day I want you all to know that I love you. It makes no difference whether you love me back or not, it will not change the love I have for you.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
