My latest 30 day challenge had been to meditate outside for 30 days. My inspiration came from Martha Beck’s book Finding Your Way in a Wild New World.
Let me say I don’t think it was just a coincidence that by the end of the 30 days my hubby was calling me CFR (Cinda-freakin-rella). Not all of the animal sightings were during my meditation. It was just kind of like the meditation was calling them to me. Here are a few of the shots I got during the 30 days:
A few of my favorite moments couldn’t be captured on camera. I noticed a tiny orange tabby kitten on the side of the road during this time. I brought the poor frightened thing in to my truck where it proceeded to hide underneath my dashboard. I had to enlist the help of my friends at Brookwood Vet and good thing I did. This 6 week old kitten had found a home before I even left there. And, for those of you that have followed me throughout my year of hugs, do you remember that time when I drove 2 hours away at 5:00am to try to find a Bobwhite or at least hear one for my then 4 year old? It was his favorite bird and the research I did pointed to a park two hours away to be able to find one which we never did. Well, within 5 days of beginning this challenge we heard one in our backyard. I almost lost it. He called about 5 times. The first time I was stunned in to silence. The 2nd time I yelled for my oldest to shush so he could hear it. By the 4th time he was thoroughly freaked out not knowing what I was so excited about. By the 5th time I had told him what it was and he was just as excited as me. I had never heard that bobwhite before, nor since.
I have never been quite so in love with the world as I am at the moment.
Please accept this blog as my virtual hug to you.
